CONSULTATION/APPOINTMENT
The doctors will see you in surgery by appointment, which
can be made either by coming in or by telephoning the receptionist
on 221527. Most of our appointments are book on the day. There are
a number of appointments in each surgery that can be prebooked in
advance.
You can request to see a particular doctor, but may have to wait
longer for this appointment. Urgent cases for medical problems only
are always seen on the same day but you may have to wait, as you
are likely to be seen during a booked surgery. Sick children are
seen as soon as possible if brought to the surgery (this may be
quicker than a home visit). If in doubt about bringing a child out,
please telephone first and a doctor can advise.
Please let the surgery know as soon as possible if you cannot keep
your appointment. We expect that patients will understand that appointments
are for one person only. Additional appointments should be made
for more than one person.
NEWLY REGISTERED PATIENTS
If available, please bring your medical card to the surgery
when registering as a new patient. Alternatively you, or a person
authorised to sign on your behalf, will be asked to sign an application
form. You have a right to express a personal preference regarding
the delivery of medical services by our Practice Staff. All newly
registered patients will be invited to see the practice nurse for
a simple health check.
If you require the services of an interpreter, please let us know.
PATIENTS RESPONSIBILITES
Patients are responsible for their own health, and the
health of their children, and should co-operate with the practice
in endeavoring to keep themselves healthy. We give you professional
help and advice – please act on it!
We ask that patients treat staff and doctors with courtesy and respect.
Bear in mind that reception staff have a very difficult job to do,
juggling with limited resources and without detailed medical knowledge.
They are trying to do their best for you.
VIOLENT OR ABUSIVE PATIENTS
In cases where patients are physically or verbally abusive
to doctors, staff or other patients, the Practice reserves the right
to ask the patient to immediately leave the premises. In extreme
cases the police will be called. The Practice also reserves the
right to remove a patient that has committed an act of violence.
