Extended Hours
From the start of June there will be one doctor consulting on a Monday evening and one GP consulting on a Saturday morning.
These appointments are pre bookable and are for people who work or have other commitments and cannot attend the surgery during the day. The surgery will not be dealing with any enquiries as the telephone will be connected to the Out of Hours Service. You will not be seen unless you have an appointment.

PERSONAL, PROFESSIONAL & PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT
The practice participates in the Protected Learning Time Initiative, when the surgery closes for an average of 8 times per year for an afternoon for education and training purposes.
MEDICAL STUDENTS
We are involved in the training of medical students and would appreciate it if patients can accept them as part of out team. Reception staff will always inform the patients when a student is present, allowing you the choice of whether or not you wish them to be included in your consultation.
FLU VACCINATION REMINDER
Please remember to come and get your flu vaccinations if you haven't already.
FEES
The NHS does not cover certain services provided by the practice, and you should expect to pay a fee. These include:
Pre-employment medicals Passport forms and signature Fitness to drive medicals Insurance certificates Private medicals Private medical certificates
SICKNESS CERTIFICATES
You do not require a doctor’s certificate for any illness lasting 6 working days or less. You should, if required, complete a self-certificate form (SC2) which is available at reception. For any illness lasting longer than 6 working days the doctor can issue a certificate (MED 3). An appointment is always required for such a certificate to be issued.
CONFIDENTIALITY
The practice carefully observes the NHS guidelines regarding patient confidentiality. All patient information held on computer is also governed by the Data Protection Act 1998
TEMPORARY RESIDENTS (Up to 3 months in the area)
The doctors during normal surgery hours can see visitors to the area who require medical treatment by appointment. The receptionist will require the following information – the visitor’s full name, home address, date of birth, where they are living during their stay, and the name and address of their own GP. We need this information so that the doctor can pass any clinical notes to the visitor’s own GP.
COMMENTS/COMPLAINTS/GRIEVANCES
It is our wish to provide a helpful, friendly and efficient service to our patients at all times. If, however, you have any comments or grievances concerning the running of the practice or regarding your own treatment please feel free to discuss this with the doctor or a member of our reception staff. If the matter cannot be resolved to your satisfaction you may be asked to put your complaint in writing, addressed to the practice manager.
