Appointments may change due to demand, GP on annual leave, sick leave or maternity leave. THE PRACTICE TEAM PRACTICE MANAGER PRACTICE NURSES We also have specialist nurses who provide additional services. HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT HEALTH VISITORS Jane Syme Our Health Visitors are trained nurses who have a responsibility to children under 5 years and their families. They have special training in Health Education and Promotion. They hold weekly drop in sessions and assist in running our Child Development Screening Clinic and oversee the child immunisation programme. Our Health Visitors are also involved in the Smoking Cessation Clinics and other Health Promotion activities and can be seen by appointment. The Health Visitors can be contacted on 01382 202777. DISTRICT NURSES Alana Biggans Lesley Inglis District Nurses provide a high quality nursing service in the community over a 24-hour period, 7 days a week. The District Nursing Sister assesses individual care needs and the team provides a full range of nursing care including health promotion activities with the patients’ home. The District Nursing Service works together with other healthcare providers, such as hospital and the statutory and voluntary services.
